Being a Succubus has its perks…until the hunter becomes the hunted.
For half-breed succubus Ava Hawley, hunting supernatural foes is worth all the risks and rewards. But when a wolf shifter is responsible for kidnapping her sister, the mission becomes personal. Ava is ordered to track down the bad boy and turn him over to her boss. That is, until she meets the dangerously sexy shifter and realizes her charm—the kiss of death—is no match for the charms of her opponent.
Alpha werewolf Killian is on the run from a demon mistress, but someone else is on his tail—a stunning seductress. And Killian can't resist her. Proving his innocence will be a challenge, but with every moment that he spends with her, Ava’s self-control weakens. As their attraction grows, she knows she’ll have to rely on the shifter she'd been sent to capture, or they’ll both become victims to another predator…

Chapter One
Some guys just can’t take no for an answer.
Annoyance surged through Ava Hawley’s blood as she brushed her admirer off with a cold shoulder and pushed through the crowded dance floor. Pop electro music blared in the background with the pounding of her fierce pulse.
Sure, she enjoyed the attention from the opposite sex. She was a half-breed succubus after all. But this wasn’t one of those amusing pastimes, and not because she had a specific preference in men. Far from it. There were more pressing matters to consider and having a pet around wasn’t part of the plan. Hell, the last thing she needed was a human male causing a scene in the middle of her job.
Tonight however, she was on the lookout for a rogue shifter. The bad boy at the far end of the bar tossing back his vodka. Killian Reid.
Now there was a challenge she wouldn’t mind sucking the life out of.
Ava’s mouth lifted with a hint of mischief. After catching the trail of the wolf’s earthy scent back at the pier under the Bay Bridge, she’d managed to follow him inside the club, Inferno.
Sporting a dark overcoat and leather pants encasing muscular thighs, his stay-the-fuck-away aura exuded power. His square, shadowed jaw and trimmed, inky hair heralded a ruggedly sexy appearance, almost the roughrider type. His lips were full and his nose a sharp blade.
Oh yeah. Definitely a hot catch but such a waste because the shifter was a fugitive. Responsible for kidnapping her sister and on the run, the wolf deserved to be punished and skewered to death.
Too bad she’d been ordered to bring him in alive.
Of course this was what she’d lived and trained for with the Takers. Part of her duty as a bounty huntress was to track down supernatural foes deemed a threat—shifters, vampires, and even demons. Those scumbags were always up to no good and somebody needed to level the playing field. Only this time, it was personal and she planned to make the wolf pay.
Careful. You don’t want to make the same mistake again.
Just the thought of killing the shifter turned her heart to ice, numbness flowing through her. She had experienced this once before, the cold flash of guilt slamming into her after her first kill.
Were it not for her handler, Amelia, coming to her rescue, Ava would have been locked up behind bars or dead already. The fact she’d killed her first rogue shifter years ago was no coincidence, though the only regret was the guy happened to be her former boyfriend. Still, all that mattered now was finding her sister, Shia.
Drawing in a deep breath, Ava squared her shoulders and started toward her prey.
“Where do you think you’re going?” A guy growled in her ear from behind, bringing her to an abrupt halt. Damn, she had almost forgotten about him.
Clenching her fingers, Ava dug her nails into her palm to hold back frustration. When will humans learn to stay out of trouble? If they knew supernaturals existed and were always watching from the shadows, maybe they’d tread more carefully. A nonchalant smile kicked up the corner of her mouth even though he couldn’t see her expression.
“Think you’re too good for me?” he probed.
Quite the opposite, but if the guy wouldn’t back off after she’d politely refused him, she might reconsider killing him. Honestly, she didn’t want to kill him unless necessary. With a calm stance, Ava unclenched her fist and pivoted around to face him.
